Castle Spa
One of Hungary’s most beautiful thermal bath complexes, Gyula Castle Spa is located in the 8.5-hectare park of the former Almásy Castle, now a protected natural area. Great care was taken during construction to preserve the historic trees and provide guests with spacious green surroundings.
The 72°C thermal water was officially recognized as medicinal water in 1969, the spa was designated a medicinal bath in 1971, and the surrounding area became an official therapeutic resort in 1985. The water is especially beneficial for musculoskeletal conditions, post-accident rehabilitation, local neurological disorders, and inflammatory gynecological problems. Guests can choose from medicinal, adventure, and outdoor pools.
The year-round medical center offers mud treatments, magnetotherapy, carbon dioxide baths, weight baths, tangentor treatments, medical and relaxing massages, as well as therapeutic exercise and swimming under professional medical supervision.
The entrance to Gyula Castle Spa is located only 10 meters from our hotel.
We recommend the two-entry-per-day spa ticket, which provides access not only to the swimming pools and medicinal bath section, but also to the spa’s wellness center with unlimited use of the adventure pool, saunas, hydromassage benches, neck showers, massage loungers, and current channel.
Spa tickets can be purchased at our hotel reception at current ticket prices.
Pools of Gyula Castle Spa
Gyula Castle Spa is regarded as one of the most beautiful spa complexes in Hungary, where the valuable historical heritage, extraordinary natural beauty, and the healing effects of thermal water come together in perfect harmony.
The water of Gyula Castle Spa is an alkaline bicarbonate-chloride medicinal water. Due to its high mineral content, it has a naturally brownish tone. The thermal water is highly effective in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, rheumatic complaints, localized neurological conditions, rehabilitation after accidents and surgeries, acid-related stomach problems, and inflammatory gynecological diseases. The spa’s medicinal water is supplied from six wells.

The spa features 9 outdoor and 14 indoor pools with a total water surface area of 5,093 m².3.
Indoor medicinal pools:
The building known as the “Riding Hall” (Lovarda) operates year-round and includes: a 20-meter medicinal pool (28–30°C), also suitable for swimming; the “Butterfly” pool (34–36°C); a large medicinal pool (34–36°C); a small medicinal pool (36–38°C); a children’s paddling pool (32–34°C); the indoor-outdoor “Octopus” pool (35–37°C).
The outdoor pools at Gyula Castle Spa are open during the summer season, typically from May 1 to September 1, depending on weather conditions.
Outdoor Medicinal Pools:
The “Shaded Pool” (35–37°C) is equipped with two neck showers and two massage jets. Next to it is the Bubble Pool (32–34°C), featuring 12 air jets and 4 hydromassage jets. Nearby is the “Massage Pool” (31–34°C), one of the most popular pools in the spa complex.
Outdoor swimming pools:
The outdoor swimming pools are located separately from the medicinal pools. The new Children’s Water Paradise (30–34°C) is a perfect aquatic playground for young guests. Nearby, the Wave Pool (26–28°C) provides exciting entertainment with waves reaching nearly one meter in height. Close to the “Fa hidas” entrance, guests will find the Slide Pool, featuring three water slides that can be used free of charge.
Next to these are two sports pools: the 50-meter competition pool (24–26°C) and the 25-meter training pool (26–28°C).
The “Fa hidas” beach entrance is located just 10 meters from the main entrance of our hotel.

Water Slides
The most striking feature of the entire complex is its two giant water slides, which start from a height of more than 10 meters. The slides travel through the interior of a volcano and then burst out like lava before ending with a refreshing splash into the pool below. To make the ride even more unforgettable, special visual effects create fascinating optical illusions during the descent.
The “Light Tunnel” body slide offers a classic slide experience, while the “Fel(l)ejtő” tube slide lets guests race down in a large inflatable ring for an even more thrilling adventure.
Fans of diving and trampoline jumping will also feel at home in Gyula Castle Spa’s exciting AquaPalota adventure complex.
